Limework
Limework is our speciality and we take careful consideration when choosing the necessary solution for your home or project.

Lime can be applied in a number of ways depending on the substrate and comes in various forms of purity and grade.
Lime is the best (and only) option if you need to cover and protect your Wychert wall or property for example.

Replacing an existing sand and cement render, internal gypsum plaster or repairing and replacing the brick and stone mortar joints can ensure the integrity of your building or wall is reinstated.
A neatly pointed and defined lime mortar looks great on stone as does a textured exterior lime render and can be advantageous to overcome existing damp problems or help prevent them.
Painting
We recommend using a quality breathable paint once your render has been applied and sufficiently cured. We use a range of products depending on your project and the end goal. Limewash, masonry paints and linseed paints all have their place.

We also provide an interior painting service and carry out all necessary preparation for your home, new or old. See some of our pictures and testimonials.

Render Removal & Repair work

One of the biggest challenges is often deciding how far to go with any change. We can help you to decide upon the scale of the work required or whether it is necessary at all.

We're happy to take on small repairs or full re-applications. Exposing old features that have been covered up by modern plaster, render and old damp proofing solutions is very exciting but does pose an element of 'entering into the unknown'. We have experience in dealing with any general building required to allow us to carry out the desired outcome.
Alternative Solutions

BEFORE
AFTER
We steer towards more sustainable and simple solutions when it comes to renovating period properties.
For example there are lime plasters and renders which offer greater thermal properties but do not compromise the breathability function we all look to acheive.
Wool insulation and wood fibre boards offer a great alternative to foam insulation and gypsum based boards.
